Cesar Garcia de leaniz barcena2024-04-06El Museo de la Memoria Judía está situado en una antigua casa, hoy rehabilitada, propiedad de una familia de comerciantes judíos. El patriarca murió en Londres y su mujer, al no poder repatriar el cuerpo, decidió rehabilitar la sinagoga Slat Attia, situada en el inmueble y que hoy forma parte del conjunto. Además de este espacio destinado a la oración, en Bayt Dakira se pueden contemplar diferentes objetos y antigüedades relacionadas con la religión hebrea, como una antigua torah, o curiosidades relacionadas con las tradiciones judías, como una silla de circuncisión. También documentos históricos y fotografías antiguas, que contribuyen a recrear la memoria histórica de la religión hebrea. En otro apartado del museo se pueden encontrar paneles informativos que muestran información acerca de importantes personajes judíos con orígenes marroquíes que han tenido su lugar en la Historia, como el primer senador judío en EE.UU., e información sobre cómo ha influido en Essaouira la cultura judía.
Marie Cliff2024-04-04A very quiet place to spend your last day. The interior design is rich and the collections were great pieces of the Jewish community. It would be more helpful if there are English translations as well. I hope there will be more support to these projects of reviving the jewish culture in Morocco. Also, entrance fee is free!
